South Korea’s first LNG import terminal went into operation in 1986 near the trade port area of Pyeongtaek, an industrial city one hour south of Seoul. In the beginning, its storage capacity consisted of 10 x 100,000 m³ membrane tanks. Today Pyeongtaek Terminal is one of the three LNG receiving terminals operated by the national gas importer, Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), throughout the country. Since starting with the expansion of Pyeongtaek LNG Terminal II, DYWIDAG International, a member of Strabag Group, has been involved in the construction of:

Tanks 11 - 14 with 140,000 m³ (2004),Tanks 19 + 20 with 200,000 m³ (2008),Tank 23 with 200,000 m³ (2009). The scope of work comprehends the design and engineering of the full containment tanks as well as the supply of the prestressing material and the execution of the prestressing works.

DYWIDAG International (a member of Strabag Group): Construction of Tanks 11 - 14 with 140,000 m³ (2004),Tanks 19 + 20 with 200,000 m³ (2008),Tank 23 with 200,000 m³ (2009).
