The Janglau prospect is located in Block PM308A offshore the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Lundin operates the block with a 35% interest; JX Nippon Oil & Gas holds 40%; and Petronas Carigali holds 25%.

Oil was found in multiple pay sand units in an intra-rift sand/shale section that extended over a gross interval of about 984 feet (300 metres). The well reached a total depth of 12,533 feet (3,820 metres) by the Offshore Courageous (350’ ILC) jackup.

Oil samples were recovered at surface during drilling. Lundin logged the well and petrophysical analysis indicates 79 feet (24 metres) of net oil pay. Pressure testing and fluid sampling were completed and oil samples recovered for laboratory analysis. Further analysis of the data is necessary to fully evaluate the discovery.
