The project will see the proposed expansion of capacity at the existing refinery, from 13.7 to 18 million tonnes per year. The facilities to be added and improved are to include an additional furnace, with an absorbed duty of around 44 MMkcal per hour, replacement of the transfer line of existing furnace with another with enhanced capacity, new strippers for Kero-I and LGO, one two-stage desalter and 11 heat exchangers. There will be eight air fin coolers required for the main fractionator overhead, an additional condenser for topper column and an amine absorber, along with amine circulation pumps, for fuel gas treatment.
