The Kharsang Field is located in the north-eastern corner of India in the Upper Assam Basin, which contains some of India\'s largest producing oil fields. The Kharsang licence covers an area of approximately 10km2. The Kharsang Field is the only producing field in Jubilant\'s portfolio. It was discovered in 1976 and trial production began in 1980, with commercial production from 1983. The field is operated by GeoEnpro who holds a 10%. Participating Interest in partnership with GeoPetrol (25%), Jubilant Energy (Kharsang) (25%) and OIL (40%). Wider Jubilant group holds 50% stake in GeoEnpro 10% Participating Interest in the block. The Kharsang Field hosts 70 wells at present, according to the operator, and produces around 1,800 bopd from upper Girujan reservoirs.
