The block currently covers 510km2 (including 17 km2 of Mining Lease of Deen Dayal West - DDW area). The Krishna-Godavari Basin has many of India\'s recent significant oil and gas discoveries.

Jubilant has a 10% Participating Interest in the KG Block and actively participates as a non-operating partner along with the operator, GSPC, which holds 80% Participating Interest. The remaining Participating Interest is held by GGR.

Gas was discovered in June 2005 with the drilling of the KG-08 exploration well. A total of 16 exploratory and appraisal wells have been drilled with hydrocarbon being tested in 12 wells and four wells being dry wells. To date, within the licence area, eight structural stratigraphic features have been found to be hydrocarbon bearing. The dry holes are located to the north of the Deen Dayal discovery area. This non-productive area has subsequently been relinquished by the consortium. The Field Development Plan for the DDW area was approved by DGH/GoI in November 2009. The first gas is expected by April 2013.
