GAIL is looking to set up a commercial coal gasification plant, for production of synthesis gas, while Rashtriya Chemical and Fertilisers plans to revive a disused fertiliser plant, by utilising the synthesis gas from the proposed coal gasification plant. It is estimated that the project will produce 1.2 million tonnes per annum of urea.
