The Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline is intended to provide an outlet for Nigerian gas enabling a connection to export routes from Algeria to Europe with an export capacity of 20-30 bcm per year. The project will involve the following: Economical and financial analysis, Policy issue assessment, Market analysis, Infrastructure requirements, Cost estimates, Assessment of environmental issues, Institutional framework, Risk analysis, Route survey, and Regional benefit study. It is also expected to contribute to Algeria\'s plans to increase gas exports to Europe. 1,037 km of the pipeline\'s distance will be in Nigerian territory while 841km and 2,310km will be in Niger and Algeria respectively. The main operators for the project include: Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (45%), Sonatrach (45%) and the government of Niger (10%).
