Area: 175,000 acres
The Zijinshan PSC covers an area of 175,000 acres in the Ordos Basin in Shanxi Province, the second largest petroleum-bearing basin in China. Located at the heart of Ordos Basin, the Zijinshan project area is surrounding by commercialised gas fields operated by other international and local oil and gas companies. China United Coal Bed Methane Company (CUCBM) estimated that the Zijinshan project area has potential gross gas resources in excess of 3.8 tcf. Drilling was discontinued in June 2013 to focus exploration and appraisal efforts on the upcoming programme. It is possible that the well may be revisited at later date to attempt to isolate the water and to test different zones.
