The Erawan field is located in the Gulf of Thailand. The Erawan field came onstream in 1981. All the natural gas Chevron produces for Thailand is sold to Petroleum Authority of Thailand. The crude oil is sold to refineries in the country as well as exported to international markets. Chevron Thailand and the Ministry of Energy of Thailand signed an agreement in 2007 to extend the production period of four offshore blocks in the Gulf of Thailand for an additional 10 years, from 2012 to 2022, and Erawan field is included in the contract extension.
