The Government of Cambodia awarded Chevron Overseas Petroleum (Cambodia) Ltd a concession for the exploration and production of oil and gas offshore in Block A, in 2002. A five-well exploration and appraisal program commenced with four additional wells completed in 2007. Block A is Cambodia’s first oil and gas field development. The project will be developed with a leased floating storage and offloading vessel allied to a fixed platform.
Phase 1A - Apsara Core Development Area
The first phase includes the installation of a single unmanned minimum facility 24-slot wellhead platform in the Apsara Core Development Area. Production will be sent for water separation at a moored vessel capable of processing up to 30,000 bpd of liquids. The crude will then be sent for storage via a 1.5 km pipeline to a permanently moored FSO vessel. Up to 20 wells will be drilled in Phase 1A.
Phase 1B
The second phase is expected to include three additional development platforms that will be tied back to the facilities established during Phase 1A.
Phase 1C - southern region of Apsara
This phase will add three to four new appraisal wells as well as an additional five wellheads linked to a central processing hub platform.
The complete Apsara development and production is expected to include up to 10 fixed offshore platforms. Six other prospective field areas were identified in Block A. This includes the Angkea Set, Rotanak, Bokor, Da, Poulo Wai and Basit.
