The Banyu Urip project is the first development under the Cepu Contract Area and involves the development of the Banyu Urip oil field. The Banyu Urip field discovery was announced in April 2001 and is estimated to contain approximately 730 million barrels of oil. At planned peak production, Banyu Urip is expected to produce as much as 165,000 barrels of oil per day.
The project will include the following facilities: Well pad facilities and sour crude oil and gas processing facilities onshore, 75-80km 20-in onshore export pipeline, trailer-mounted rig for 3-year term, wellhead installations including pre-heating and installation of 20 and 13.625 slip-on wellhead, welding and nitrogen and blow-out preventer testing equipment. The supply of gas turbine electric power generators and duel fuel auxiliary generators, an FSO moored offshore for storage. A VLCC will be converted into an FSO which will store a minimum 1.7 million barrels of crude. Additionally, the FSO will have accommodation for 60 to 70 people.
The EPC tender will be divided into five parts, namely production facilities, 76-km onshore pipeline, 23-km subsea pipeline and FSO, infrastructures and subsurface. The field is expected to produce 170,000 bpd at peak. The Cepu block may hold 2bnbbl oil and 11tcf gas.
