Project Profile
Value: US$100 million
Recoverable reserves: 30-90-150 billion cubic feet (low, mid and high cases)
Startup Year: 2011
The Wortel field will be developed as a satellite to the Oyong field, 7km away. The main EPC contract package includes a minimal-facility wellhead platform with a deck of 175 tonnes complete with all facilities, and a piled system three-legged substructure weighing around 270 tonnes that will be installed by a drilling rig.
The EPC work scope also covers the Oyong WHP modification work and the production barge; an EPCI pipelay package covering a 9.6km 10-in export pipeline linking the WHP to existing facilities at Oyong gas field, and the installation of the WHP deck; an EPCI modification package that includes the onshore Grati terminal; and support contracts of blanket engineering, bulk procurement and installation of the equipment.
The Wortel field is estimated to contain recoverable gas volumes of 30-90-150 billion cubic feet in low, mid and high cases.
Some 60% of the field’s production will be supplied to private electricity company Indonesia Power while the rest will be bought by regional government-controlled companies.
Sampang Sustainability Project (SSP)
This initiative will involve switching the Oyong and Wortel Fields to a gas only production system and ceasing uneconomic oil production. Production forecasts based on implementation of the SSP show an increase of 2P reserves of ~17 billion cubic feet (bcf) associated with the extended life of the Wortel and Oyong fields.
