The planned construction of an LNG import terminal is to be developed in phases at Mundra Port. Phase one of the LNG terminal will have a capacity of 5 million tonnes per annum of LNG. The terminal will have an LNG receiving jetty and two tanks with storage capacity of 160,000 cubic metres. The Mundra terminal would be India’s third after two others in Gujarat state, Hazira and Dahej, with a combined capacity of 13 million tonnes per annum. A fourth LNG terminal is also envisaged for Pipavav with up to 5 million tonnes per annum capacity in the near future.
