CNOOC has re-issued the tender for the South East Sumatra (SMS) Gas Project and for Zelda/Widuri gas facilities, jointly, to award a contract covering both projects. The Southeast Sumatra project, facilities include a drilling and production platform; a gas pipeline between Banuwati-A to a subsea tie-in to the existing Zelda P to Pabelokan Island and onshore West Java; a subsea sales gas pipeline from the landfall to the proposed tie-in location to the Cilamaya to Merak pipeline; a wet gas pipeline between Mila-A and Banuwati-A platform; and an onshore gas metering and pressure letdown stations. The facilities for the Zelda to Widuri project will include Zelda-PC platform; a bridge connecting the Zelda PC platform and the existing Zelda Process Platform; and a 66km 10-in subsea pipeline from Zelda-PC to Widuri-P platform.
SES was awarded in 1968 with first oil in September 1971 and first gas sales commencing in 2006. The PSC is located to the South East of Sumarta and West of ONWJ. The PSC covers the Sunda and Asai basins and is the largest oil development offshore Indonesia. SES covers an area on 8,275 sq. km with a water depth ranging between 17-55m.
The PSC has a total of 34 producing fields and 360 wells from which hydrocarbons are produced through three main development areas of the North, Central and South. Oil production occurs from the North and South, while oil and gas is produced from the Central area. Just under 50% of the produced gas is for power generation that drives facilities and electric submersible pumps for oil production. Gross production in 2011 was 12.4 million barrels of oil and 23.6 Bscf of sales gas.
