Start-up Year: 2012

The Pagbilao LNG Hub Terminal is located in Pagbilao in the province of Quezon; Philippines. It is the first LNG terminal in the country. The terminal will act as a hub for onward distribution of LNG throughout the Philippines. It comprised a LNG storage tank with a capacity of 4.59 million cubic feet; a jetty, as well as a receiving and re-export terminal for berthing, unloading and reloading LNG ships; a regasification facility and related support facilities.

The LNG Terminal is built in two phases. The first involves the construction of a 130,000-cubic metre LNG storage tank, regasification facility, jetty and the installation of supporting infrastructure. The second phase will involve the establishment of another 130,000-cubic-metre LNG storage tank. The site of the terminal will be adjacent to the existing Pagbilao power plant of Team Energy, which has a 230-kilovolt switchyard in place and a sheltered deep-water berthing for ocean-going vessels. Total cost is estimated at US$130 million, excluding finance costs.

Aside from the terminal, Energy World is also developing a 650 MW combined cycle power plant that will use the regasified LNG as feedstock. The power plant would be designed to accommodate the latest high-efficiency and environment-friendly technology available for gas turbines. It will be one of the most efficient power-producing plants in Southeast Asia which, when combined with the fuel gas from the terminal, will allow highly competitively priced power to be generated and sold from the plant. The total cost of the Pagbilao power plant is estimated at US$588 million, excluding finance costs.
