Project Profile

Value: US$1,000 million
Location: Blocks 14A, 15A, 16A, Gulf of Thailand
Exploration drilling: 1999
Upstream Gas Reserves: 5,000 billion ft³
Production Start-up: 2008
Production: 370 MMcf/d (10.5 MMcm/d) of natural gas and 19,800 bpd of condensate (2008)
Water Depth: 80m

With an initial planned production capacity of 330 MMcf/d (9.3 MMcm/d) of natural gas and 11,000 bpd of condensate, Arthit field development included a total of 90 production wells tied-back to six wellhead platforms. Recovered hydrocarbons are transferred to a remotely operated central processing platform, which is equipped with natural gas and condensate treatment and processing facilities. Then, gas is transported through five gas pipelines, and condensate is transferred through one pipeline.

From 2004 to 2008, three separate jackups, including the Trident XVI, Ensco 57 and GSF Key Gibraltar, were actively drilling on Arthit. Additionally, Arthit wells were being drilled by the tender rigs T-3 and T-6. Development plans called for the drilling of 80 development wells on the field by 2007.

Arthit reached first production on March 26, 2008 at an initial rate of 80 MMcf/d (2.3 MMcm/d) on the first day and 130 MMcf/d (3.7 MMcm/d) by the second. By June 2008, Arthit had reached production levels of 370 MMcf/d (10.5 MMcm/d) of natural gas and 19,800 bpd of condensate, exceeding expectations.
