Project Profile
Value: US$2.9 billion
Location: Taiwan
Expected Completion: 2012
Talin Refinery Project is located in Taiwan. The project will enable the refinery to increase gasoline yield. CPC plans to build a unit at Talin that can process 50,000 barrels of condensate a day, as well as plants that remove sulfur from diesel and kerosene. In July 2010, CPC Corp. had hired Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. for a desulfurization unit at its 300,000-b/d Talin refinery in Taiwan. The unit was the first to combine the contractor’s proprietary Euroclaus technology with proprietary DynaWave sulfuric acid technology of MECS Inc. The refinery underwent a major upgrade project including the addition of an RFCC. A CPC upgrade of the refinery includes addition of an 80,000-b/d residual fluid catalytic cracking unit.
