Project Profile
Location: Madura Block, Indonesia
Peak production: 60 mmcfd (net) (from MDA, MBH and MDK fields)
Start-up Year: 2017
The Madura Block, in which the company holds a 40 percent interest, is the current focus for development. The BD field is being developed first, followed by the MDA field. Both fields will produce natural gas and gas liquids. The fields are being developed in partnership with CNOOC (as the operator) and an affiliate of Samudra Energy Ltd. Husky was granted a 20 year Production Sharing Contract (PSC) from the Government of Indonesia. The PSC includes the Madura BD and MDA natural gas and natural gas liquids fields offshore East Java, as well as numerous other prospects and leads. The extension provides the basis for advancing the Madura BD field toward development. Husky Energy Inc. expected the Madura BD field in the Madura Strait offshore Indonesia to commence production in 2017 as development work on the project continues.
A tendering process is underway for a floating production vessel and related engineering, procurement, construction and installation contracts for the combined MDA-MBH fields, also located in the Madura Strait. The MDA-MBH fields are expected to produce about 50 mmcf/day (net) at peak production. A third discovery, the MDK field, is planned to be tied into the MDA-MBH field infrastructure. A plan of development has been approved, and the field is expected to produce approx. 10 mmcfd (net) at peak.
