The Ningbo Petrochemical Complex (Keyuan) is located Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China. The complex is owned and operated by Keyuan Petrochemicals Inc. The petrochemical complex\'s operations include a production facility with an annual petrochemical production capacity of 720,000 metric tons (MT) of various petrochemical products; a Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) production facility with a designed annual production capacity of 70,000 MT; a Styrene-Ethylene-Butylene-Styrene (SEBS) production facility with a designed annual production capacity of 10,000 MT; facilities for the storage and loading of raw materials and finished petrochemical and rubber goods, and manufacturing technologies that can support its manufacturing process.
The Company began construction of its new 70,000 ton SBS production facility in September 2010 and completed construction in September 2011. After several trials and adjustments, one SBS production line began commercial production in December 2011. The total cost of the SBS facility will be approximately US$17.5 million. The petrochemicals complex includes the manufacturing and sales of mixed light aromatics, mixed heavy aromatics, fine propylene, propane, butane, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), methyltert-butylether and styrene.
