The project will see the expansion the Balongan refinery at Indrayama, West Java, which has a production capacity of 125,000 barrels a day and produces a wide range of fuel products. The refinery development master plan intends to increase the capacity of the Balongan refinery from 100 thousand bpd to 280 thousand bpd. The current SPM loading terminal will be replaced with a new SPM loading terminal capable of mooring and offloading crude from tankers up to 165,000 DWT. The associated subsea pipeline, PLEM and other equipment will also be replaced.

Contractors:

InterMoor: Responsible for the installation engineering, procedures, equipment and manpower for the SPM. The design work will include a 6-leg mooring system of driven piles and chain that will be pre-installed. InterMoor will work with sister companies MENCK and LM Handling, both specialists in driving subsea piles. InterMoor’s work scope includes the installation of two floating hoses, an umbilical, two mooring hawsers, the PLEM, and the hook-up of the SPM to the pre-installed mooring system. (October,2016)
