Water depth range: 1600 – 4800 m 

Existing fields in block: 1 (Dzata)

Available data: 2D seismic, 3D seismic,  well reports and cuttings 

Although in deep water, a working petroleum system is likely in GH_WB_05 due to the nearby Dzata discovery.  Block GH_WB_05 will be licensed through direct negotiations in accordance with Section 10(9) of Act 919. The Government of the Republic of Ghana is inviting companies with experience in deep to ultra-deep water exploration and which have the financial capabilities to to undertake petroleum activities in these regions, to engage the Government directly without public tender
