The Meseda Field is a 45km2 concession situated onshore in the highly prospective West Gharib block, on the west side of the Gulf of Suez; the field came onstream in November 2011. Currently there are 13 producing wells in the Meseda Field with gross production in excess of 3,500 bopd, (665 bopd net to SDX Energy after State take) (April, 2016). The reservoir at Meseda is the Miocene Asl sands, which produce heavy 17-20° API oil from 13 wells and with watercuts approaching 50%.
