Introduction
Blocks 1711 and 1811A are situated in the Namibe basin off the Northern coast of Namibia along the international boundary with Angola. The two separate exploration blocks have an area of about 12,400 square kilometers are situated directly east of Blocks 1710 and 1810.
Block 1711 water depth from 100 to 2,000m,Block size is 6,573 sq.km.Potential Targets inclouding Kunene and Hartmann Prospect.
Block 1811A water depth from 200 to 2,600m,Block size is 5,865 sq.km.Potential Targets inclouding Zamba,Tapir North,125 North,125 South,100 North + North Drape and 100 South Prospect.
National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia is the former operator of the blocks.In Arp,2019, ExxonMobil signed the farm-in agreements with National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia for Blocks 1711 and 1811A.
ExxonMobil plans to begin exploration activities in 2019, including acquisition of seismic data and analysis.
