Block 12 is an onshore block situated in Central Oman. Block 12 covers more than 10,000 sq. km in the northern part of Block 6 and south of the Greater Barik area, where the Mabrouk North East and Mabrouk West fields are located. In April 2019 Total signed a deal with Omani Oil and Gas Ministry to take the operatorship and 100% working interest of the exploration block 12. Total will carry out seismic shooting on Block 12 and exploration drilling over the 10,000 sq.km area, with a first well to be drilled in 2020. The block is estimated to hold significant gas resources.
