Introduction

Block 3/7 is located in the Melut basin in eastern Sudan, covering 72,400 square kilometers. In November 2000, CNPC won the bid for oil exploration and development project in block 3/7.Dar Petroleum Operating Company(DPOC) is the current operator.

In 2003, the company discovered the Palogue oil field in block 3/7, with a maximum oil-bearing area of over 60 square kilometers. The test shows that the maximum reservoir thickness is about 147.5 meters, the average reservoir thickness is nearly 60 meters, and the proved geological reserves of the main oilfield exceed 300 million tons.

On June 9, 2007, the offshore terminal of the crude oil pipeline located in the west coast of the red sea was completed and put into operation.

In 2008, 3/7 block increased the application of new Wells, horizontal Wells and water plugging measures, and the crude oil output maintained a steady growth.

In 2010, good results were achieved in rolling exploration in 3/7 district, and the second-phase production capacity construction project was put into full operation.

In July 2011, south Sudan ceased production for 15 months after independence, and has experienced many severe armed conflicts. At the same time, due to the impact of low international oil prices, production investment has been greatly reduced. From 2012 to 2016, only 36 new Wells have been drilled, and the decline of oil fields has been accelerated.

In order to archive long-term business plan, the target of 10 million tons of output in three years has been set, and the glory of the large overseas oil field of 10 million tons has been created.

In 2019, DPOC plan to drill 50 wells to increase production.
