Tanglawan Philippines LNG, a subsidiary of Phoenix Petroleum, had been awarded approval by the Department of Energy to construct Philippine's first LNG import and regasification terminal in partnership with CNOOC Gas and Power Group.
Works on the terminal would begin in 2019 with the intention of having the facility open for commercial operations by 2023. The plant's capacity is expected to be 2.2 million tpy and the cost is estimated at US$2 billion. The facility will also include a gas-fired power generation complex comprised of six 360-MW units with a combined capacity of 2,160 MW.
