Rosneft launched full-scale development of the Russkoye oilfield in 2015. The deposit contains 1.4 billion tonnes (10.3 billion barrels) of B1+B2 reserves, of which 424.6 million tonnes (3.11 billion barrels) is recoverable. 

During 2017, Rosneft drilled 83 development wells at Russkoye, including three using fishbone technology. Work is continuing on field infrastructure, including oil pipelines, oil treatment units and a pumping station. A power station will be built that will run on associated gas from the field. Rosneft aims to launch commercial production at Russkoye before the end of 2018. The field’s oil will be pumped to market via the Zapolyarye-Purpe pipeline.
