Introduction
Block PT5-C located in the eastern coast of Mozambique,is 3012 sq km.The block is offered in fifth Mozambique licensin round and was awarded to Sasol Petroleum Mozambique Exploration Ltd(Mozambique) and National Enterprise of Hydrocarbons(ENH)(Mozambique).
Under the contract, the government grants the companies eight years to explore for hydrocarbons, which can be extended to 30 years in the event of commercially viable discoveries.
The block is adjacent to the Pande, Temane and Inhassoro fields,which were also operated by Sasol Petroleum Mozambique Exploration Ltd.
Sasol Petroleum Mozambique Exploration Ltd will explore and drill the block after obtaining the block, which will be connected to existing production facilities in the future.The existing production facilities inclouding a Central Processing Facility (CPF) to process/clean the gas before transport and a 865km 26-inch diameter Pipeline between the Gas Fields and Sasol’s plant in Secunda, South Africa, including 5 take off-points in Mozambique for domestic gas use.
According to the contract,Sasol Petroleum Mozambique Exploration Ltd(Mozambique) and National Enterprise of Hydrocarbons(ENH)(Mozambique) have a first period financial commitment during the first period duration(4 years):
First Period Work commitment :2 onshore Wells and 1600 sq km of 2D servey
