GR6 pipeline runs parallel to the existing GR4 pipeline and connects to existing trunk lines that transport gas for export from Arzew on the north-east coast. The project includes the construction of three compression stations creating 12 bcm per year of transmission capacity. Two-thirds of the capacity will be reserved for domestic demand, with the balance of 4 bcm used for gas exports.
