Project Profile

Location: Baltic Sea, off coast of Kaliningrad region
Value: undisclosed
Petroleum basin: Baltic
Discovery Year: 2015

Production start-up: December 2018 (expected)
Lukoil identified four oilfields off the coast of Kaliningrad in 2015 at blocks D41, D29, D6-South and D33. The D29 discovery was later written off as non-commercial.
Lukoil plans to start production at D41 in December 2018. Its development plan calls for the construction of three wells on the shore of the Baltic Sea, which will include horizontal sections in order to target reservoirs offshore. Lukoil spudded the first of these wells in August 2018. It has a target depth of 8,225 metres.
D41 contains over 3.9 million tonnes (28.6 million barrels) in C1 oil reserves, of which 14.7 million barrels is recoverable. Lukoil is targeting an eventual output of 45,000 boepd of hydrocarbons from its Baltic Sea projects, which include D41, D33, D6-South and the Soviet-era Kravtsovskoye field. Its total 3P+3C resources in the area are estimated at 261 million boe.
