Argentina's state-run YPF and Pluspetrol will together spend US$180 million into a pilot on La Calera in the Vaca Muerta gas window. The pilot will entail the drilling of nine horizontal wells to test gas prospects in 2018 and 2019.
If successful, the companies could potentially invest another US$450 million in 2019-2021 for 35 additional wells and the construction of field infrastructure, including a gas treatment plant with a capacity of 2 mcm per day.
