Rosebank field is located 130 km northwest of the Shetland Islands. Rosebank is considered one of the biggest prospects in the UKCS. The selected field design is for a subsea development tied back to a FPSO vessel, with natural gas exported via pipeline.
The Rosebank Project is in its pre-sanction FEED stage. Chevron has relaunched the tender process for an FPSO facility after cancelling the original US$1.9 billion deal with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in late 2016.
Final investment decision on the project is expected in early 2019. The Rosebank licence is due for renewal with the UK authorities in mid-2019.
