Tano 2A Block covering 1,532 square kilometres located in offshore Ghana. The block is close to the prolific Jubilee oil field. The Tano 2A Block was originally awarded in 2008 to a Ghanian company Pan Andean Resources, which is owned by: Clontarf Energy; Petrel Resources; Ghanaian interests (Abbey Oil & Gas Limited). In 2010 Clontarf Energy had signed an agreement with the Ghanaian National Petroleum Co. (GNPC) on the Tano 2A block, giving Clontarf 60% equity, in partnership with Petrel Resources and Ghanaian interests 10%. Tano 2A is a good block with both onshore and shallow offshore possibilities. The block is estimated to contain recoverable reserves in the amount of 1.2 Bboe.
