Puesto Prado Block is located in the Rio Negro province, which lies on the southern border of Neuquen province, home to most of the Vaca Muerta shale play. The minimum investment requirement for the block is US$60 million for the first five years of the licence. Central International Corporation is the former holder of the concession. 
Puesto Prado has 23 wells currently shut in of which some 5 are available for reactivation, with the last recorded production being some 150 bopd. It also incorporates a treatment plant, which after repair and upgrading, is considered by President Energy to be able to be able to process some 600 bopd. The oil will be transported by truck direct from the field to a local refinery. 
Operators:
Rio Negro province launched a bid round for the production licence in July 2018. The provincial government is taking bids until August 31, 2018.
