Location: south from Marshall County to Wayne County, West Virginia
Value: US$3.03 billion (up from a previous estimate of US$2.06 billion)
Capacity: 2.7 bcf (76 mcm) per day of gas
Length: 275 km
Start-up Year: late 2018
Mountaineer XPress pipeline project will transport gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale plays in the Appalachian Basin. The pipeline will start near the Ohio River in Marshall County and head south to Wayne County, through West Virginia counties bordering eastern Ohio. The project includes three new compressor stations and modifications to three existing compressor stations.
Two-thirds of the project’s capacity will supply Columbia’s Appalachia pool, with the remainder of the capacity being delivered onto the Columbia Gulf pipeline, which serves the southeast US and Gulf Coast region.
