Gazprom secured a subsoil licence for the Kharasaveyskoye gas field in December 1999. Its current licence is valid until June 2019. The field is situated on the coast of the Yamal Peninsula, in Russia’s Yamalo-Nenets region. It lies near to Gazprom’s giant Bovanenskoye gas field, which will serve as the main source of gas for its Nord Stream 2 pipeline to Europe.
Gazprom aims to launch commercial production at the Kharasaveyskoye field in 2024.
