The Leach Xpress entered service in January 2018 and transports gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale plays in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia to consumers in the US Midwest and on the Gulf Coast. It has a total capacity of 1.5 bcf (42.5 mcm) per day.
The pipeline comprises 160 miles (257 kilometres) of 36-inch-diameter pipeline, three compressor stations, and modifications to an existing compressor station.
Leach XPress is part of the Columbia Gas Transmission system that has more than 10,000 miles (16,093 km) of lines across Appalachian states. The interstate pipeline links local energy supplies with regional markets and provides natural gas users with affordable new gas supply.
