Introduction

In December 2003, CNPC signed an agreement with the Swiss company Cliveden to buy shares for the risk exploration of Block H in Chad. Block H covers the whole or partial area of seven depositional basins - Chad Lake, Madiago, Bongor, Doba, Doseo, Salamat and Erdis.Among them,Bongor Basin is the mian oil-production basin.
In 2005, CNPC proved the existence of three groups of reservoirs: the top group, middle group and bottom group. In 2006, CNPC obtained all the equity of Block H, and discovered new oil-bearing structures including Baobab and Ronier-1 in the Bongor Basin. Well Ronier-1, the exploration well located in the Ronier-1 structure, encountered three sets of oil and gas formations of different grades, producing conventional crude oil for the first time.
In 2009, progressive exploration in Ronier and Mimosa areas in the Bongor Basin resulted in the discovery of new reserves. Significant progress was also made in the exploration of Prosopis and Baobab.
In 2010, CNPC made important discoveries in Bongor Basin, and achieved successful formation test in risk exploration well Cassia N-1 deployed in the Naramay area of Block H, which yielded a 1,000 tons per day oil flow.
In 2011, a hydrocarbon play was discovered at Block H in the Bongor Basin. In 2012, we discovered the oil-rich Lanea block in the Bongor Basin and made important progress in lithologic reservoir exploration in Raphia region. In 2013, we made significant discoveries from risk exploration in the Bongo Basin, obtaining high-yield flows from the thick oil reservoirs in buried hills.
In 2014, an oil reserve of 100 million tons was identified in the buried hill reservoirs of the Bongor Basin. We enhanced study on reservoir geology and optimized stimulating operations, achieving an equity production of 2.6 million tons in 2015.
In 2016, a number of new oil reservoirs were discovered in the buried hill rocks.

Company behavior

HBP has provided 10 sets of separator skids and 3 sets of heating furnace skids for Ronier oilfield and Baobab oilfield in Chad since 2009.
