The Ukhta-Torzhok-2 gas pipeline will carry gas produced at the Bovanenkovo gas deposit on the Yamal Peninsula to Vyborg for transportation via the proposed Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
Gazprom began building the 970-km line in October 2015, and aims to finish it before the end of 2018. In May 2018, Gazprom noted that a further 406.8 km of pipe required installing. The company plans to complete two 100-MW compressor stations along the line in 2018 and add a further five stations with a combined capacity of 425 MW in 2020.
