Gazprom pnas to build an 867-km pipeline running from Gryazovets in the Vologda region to the Slavyanskaya compressor station near the Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga. The pipeline will provide gas for exports via the Nord Stream 2, slated to start operating before 2020.
Construction of the Gryazovets–Slavyanskaya pipeline was due to begin in 2017, but was delayed after Gazprom began renegotiating supply contracts signed in 2016 with Russian pipe mills.
In May 2018, Gazprom awarded a 75 billion ruble (US$1.2 billion) contract to Stroytransneftegaz to lay 538 km of the pipeline.
