Upstream Oil Reserves: 706 million bbl
Production:100 million standard cubic feet per day (Peak in 2013)
Water Depth: 114m
Situated on Blocks 9/29a, 9/24a and 9/24b in the UK sector of the North Sea is the Devenick gas condensate field, 119 miles (192 kilometres) southeast of Shetland, and 2 miles (3 kilometres) from the UK/Norwegian median line. Discovered in 1983 and appraised in 2002, Devenick is a HPHT gas discovery. Development work on the field commenced in the second quarter of 2010.
Field Development
In a water depth of 374 feet (114 metres), Devenick's field development will consist of two wells, S1 and S2, connecting to a subsea manifold (with four slots including two for potential future production) tied-back via a 21 miles (34 kilometre) export pipeline to the East Brae platform. Located on Block 16/03a, East Brae is an integrated platform, based on a 4-legged steel jacket, supporting drilling, production, utilities and accommodation facilities. Gas condensate from the platform is exported via the Brae-Forties pipeline and Forties Pipeline System to the crude oil stabilization plant at Kinneil. Gas from the process is exported to shore via the ExxonMobil-operated Scottish Area Gas Evacuation (SAGE) system, and some gas is also re-injected into the East Brae reservoir to maximize liquid recovery. With an estimated 20-year life span, first gas from the field is planned to commence in the second quarter of 2012.
