The East Ras Fanar Offshore Block is located offshore in shallow water depth in the central Gulf of Suez close to Dea’s Ras Fanar oil field. The East Ras Fanar Offshore Block covers an area of approximately 187 square kilometres. The operator of the project is RWE Dea who will hold a share of 100% of the East Ras Fanar Offshore.
The field was discovered by drilling well KK 84-1. It found a thick sequence of oil-bearing carbonates.
The exploration programme includes seismic reprocessing and two wells.
