The heavy transport vessel Dockwise White Marlin has delivered the 24,000-tonne Aasta Hansteen topside to Ølen. When the topside and spar substructure are put together, the gas platform will be towed to the Norwegian Sea and the Aasta Hansteen field during 2018. Operator Statoil holds 51% interest, along with partners Wintershall Norge AS (24%), OMV (Norge) AS (15%), and ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS (10%). The Aasta Hansteen field will be run from Harstad, by Statoil’s Operations North organisation. The supply base will be located in Sandnessjøen and the helicopter base in Brønnøysund.
The planned field development includes a SPAR platform, which will be the first such installation on the Norwegian continental shelf. SPAR is a floating installation consisting of a vertical column moored to the seabed. The installation features conventional topsides with processing facilities. The risers transporting the gas from the seabed to the platform and onward to Polarled will be pure steel, the first of its kind on the Norwegian continental shelf. The hull will be equipped with storage for condensate which will be loaded onto shuttle tankers at the field. The journey, aboard Boskalis' Dockwise Vanguard heavy transport vessel is about 14,500 NM long and will take about two months. Once in Norway, the spar hull will be floated off and later this year the 25,000-tonne topsides will be mated by means of a catamaran float-over. Following commissioning work, the spar will then be towed into the Norwegian Sea to be moored at the Aasta Hansteen field and is due onstream in 2018. Aasta Hansteen油田计划建设 SPAR平台,这意味着该油田将是挪威第一个拥有该设备的钻井平台,其中 Boskalis' Dockwise Vanguard重储运容器将达到 14500海里长。
