Faroe Petroleum has reported that production from the Tambar field in Norway (Faroe 45%) has recommenced, following the tragic accident on the Maersk Interceptor drilling rig on Thursday, 7 December 2017. Work is in progress to estimate the prospective resources arising from this gas in place and these are anticipated to be significantly more than the 1 tcf prospective resources (1.4 tcf gas in place) previously mapped on the licence.The infill wells, which are being drilled by the Maersk Interceptor drilling rig, will target undrained areas of the field identified in the north and south with the potential to increase 2P reserves further.The gas produced by Tambar field will be transported to and reinjected into Ula field (Faroe 20%) as part of its successful ongoing Water Alternating Gas (WAG) injection scheme, which is expected to generate additional production over the life of Ula field.
