Project Profile

Location: Doha Basin, Southern Chad
Reserves: Contingent Resources of 2.4 MMbbl (1C)
Area: 832 sq km
Start-up Year: early 2015

The M’Biku structure in Block DOD, owned and operated by United Hydrocarbon International Corporation, is estimated to contain Contingent Resources of 2.4 MMbbl (1C) as evaluated by RPS Energy Consultants. The initial pool development is expected to be onstream in early 2015, unless replaced by a new discovery in close proximity to the Belanga field. In 1994, a previous holder of the block drilled the M’Biku-1 exploration well to test an Upper Cretaceous tilted fault block bound to the northeast by a major fault. No physical flow tests were run but oil was sampled by way of MDT tool (Modular Formation Dynamics Tester) from four thin sands. Multiple oil zones were indicated by the MDT results.
