Project Profile

Location: Marine XII Block, offshore Congo
Production: 2,082 cubic metres per day of gas
Start-up Year: 2015 (Phase 1)

Litchendjili gas field project is a prospect located in the Marine XII Block offshore Congo. In the last years Eni made two major discoveries in the shallow water of the Congo continental shelf. Together with his partners, New Age (African Global Energy) Limited (New Age) and the Societe Nationale des Petroles du Congo (SNPC), Eni started to explore the Marine XII Block Located no more than 15 kilometres offshore the Congo coastline, 40 kilometres northwest of Djeno.

Within this Marine XII, Eni made a first discovery with the liquids-rich Litchendjili gas field and a bit further from the shoreline the Nene Marine crude oil and gas field. The development of the Litchendjili gas and condensate is ongoing with Saipem in charge of the execution. Gas production from Litchendjili will supply Djeno power plant in the south of Pointe Noire. Treated on the offshore platform, the condensate will be exported to Djeno Total liquid hydrocarbons terminal. The Litchendjili offshore platform will be remotely operated, meaning without manpower on board.

As well as supplying the Skandi Singapore, DOF Subsea will provide Project Management and Technical Support, specialist survey services, ROV services, and offshore project crew to assist Saipem S.A.

UTEC NCS Survey: Three months of AUV operations for Saipem located in West Africa. TEC NCS performed pre-lay and as-laid surveys using their Gavia AUV systems on the Litchendjili fields, offshore Congo. Pipeline route and barge anchor corridor pre-lay surveys were carried out in Litchendjili in water depths of 3m to 12m utilizing the GAVIA’s multibeam and side scan sonar. The GAVIA was re-deployed to carry out post lay operations along the pipeline corridor to inspect for free spans and other anomalies.
