Construction of a petrochemical complex, which will include a 1.3 mtpa naphtha cracker and produce 1.36 mtpa of ethylene & polyethylene, 600,000 t/y of propylene, 210,000 t/y of butadiene and 420,000 t/y of benzene. The complex will also comprise of a 300MW power, water desalination and water treatment plant.
Linde will replace Shaw as the lead contractor in the consortium formed for the EPC contract. Linde will also now provide the cracker and recovery technology, replacing another contract previously held by Shaw. Carbon Holdings is taking legal action against Shaw, seeking $465 million because it claims Shaw failed to fulfil its contractual responsibilities in the development of the complex.
