The Sinapa oil field, located in Block 2 offshore Guinea-Bissau, was discovered in 2004. The discovery is estimated to have mean reserves of 48 million barrels. An appraisal well, Sinapa-2 was drilled successfully in April 2004 but additional appraisal and seismic interpretation is needed to determine commerciality. Svenska Petroleum is offering selected companies the opportunity to participate in the appraisal of the Sinapa oil discovery. Equity can be had by funding the upcoming Block 2 drilling program. Planning of the appraisal well is currently underway with an expected spud date in Q2 2014. The well will target the Sinapa West structure on the western flank of the 2004 discovery. If successful, an additional Sinapa West appraisal well will be drilled along with a separate well to test the North Sola structure. The water depth in the field is approximately 30 m / 99 ft.
