The development stages:Under Construction/2014-11.The investment is US$526mn.The project is part of Pemex's efforts to maximize the production capacity, quality and competitiveness of its refineries. The initiative aims to strengthen maintenance and employee security protocols, while simultaneously mitigating environmental impacts. Objectives of the proposal include the restoration and rehabilitation of gas turbines, storage tanks, boilers, cooling towers, pipework, drainss, electrical circuits, and heaters. The project is also intended to overhaul the equipment and material procurement process, to commission studies on infrastructural integrity and to improve the plant's distillation, treatment, and conversion processes.
