The development stages:Exploration drilling/2017-01.The project involves an oil and gas exploration block covering 261 square kilometers which was licensed under a production sharing contract (PSC) between Canadian firm Sherritt Inc. and state oil company Cubapetroleo S.A. (Cupet). Sherritt drilled one well on the block in June 1994, which produced a discovery tested at 3,750b/d of oil.
